It is just a publicity stunt and it seems to be working. You heard
about it 2000 miles away

They are going to give you $400 off (not much of a deal on a $20,000
truck) and you can buy a gun with it if you want.

I didn't read it that way. I agee this is a strange way to sell trucks
but it accomplished exactly what he wanted. This was all over our news
for 2 days and I bet he sold some trucks.
I also bet most people just took the $400 off the price of the truck
when it finally came down to it.
