As long as civility is maintained, there is no need for everyone to be
on the same page or even in the same book. Some posters are very
concerned about OT posts, others are not. The "OT" in the subject line
is helpful. This newsgroup has problems a lot more serious than
discussions about BBQ grills or teenage motorcycle racing.

not as serious an issue as nastiness.

For the most part, it seems the "problems" now are being caused by the
ID spoofers and one or two posters who cannot seem to let go of the past
and practice self control.

manipulative posts... But those of us on the recieving end might take

It wasn't a troll post. You just misinterpreted it. I have suggested
using "OT" in the subject line, and I agree with those posters who have
reminded us that this is supposed to be a mostly boating related newsgroup.

Most of us are trying to keep this joint on an even keel. Those who post
here can be part of the solution or part of the problem. Your choice as
to where you want the newsgroup to go.
