So, more false equivalence.... killing whales is the same as killing fish. PETA nuts think so and Sea Shepherds is just a step away from PETA. In your opinion they're just a step away. In reality, the Sea Shepherd folks want to prevent the slaughter of whales. You are really skating on thin ice trying to show any moral or ecological difference between killing a Blue Fin Tuna and a Whale. In fact all of the tuna stocks are threatened but I bet you have a few cans in your cupboard. Are they "dolphin safe"? Do you really believe that? I bet I don't, since I don't like tuna much. It's not a matter of ecological difference. The difference is that tuna fishing can be a sustainable industry. There's no good reason to hunt whales. They're not much of a food source. I don't even let the vegetarians off the hook, particularly if they are also "organic" folks because of the amount of habitat is given up for farming. Organic actually requires more land because of reduced yield. Whatever. I'm not a vegetarian, and I really don't care who you do or don't let off the hook. |
