There are a lot of land mines left over from conflicts around the
world, why not recycle them and put them on our border. Another
alternative is to find a way to turn illegal aliens into gasoline

So you want private citizens to have the ability to demand, at
gunpoint any person to show his legal papers? Or just to demand any
person with an accent to show his legal papers?

How about lynching homeowners who hire workers standing around Lowe's
to work with them at fixing their roofs? They don't *know* those
hires are illegal - in fact the odds are good that they aren't
illegal. But that's the same thing with businessmen who don't spend
a lot of money verifying the papers of those they hire.

In 1685 the French explorer René-Robert Cavelier, Sieur de La Salle,
built Fort Saint Louis near Matagorda Bay and claimed for France all
the lands drained by the Mississippi River and its tributaries. Soon
afterwards La Salle was killed on another expedition, and the men at
the fort died from disease or were killed by the native inhabitants.
The French claim alarmed the Spanish, however, and they sent several
expeditions to find and destroy the French fort.
