Tim, I think your query is misdirected. Why not go after the ID
spoofers/ID changers, and the pack of righties who gang up and go after
posters like 'Plume? A bit of reasonable behavior from "the boys" might
result in what you want, though I doubt this will again become a place

look at what's here now.

Boating posts have all but been rooted out by the tag-teamers.

Most boating posts were rooted out years ago by nit-picking "topic
assassins" who went after virtually every knowledge-based post in a sort
of "I know better than you" feeding orgy. That is what drove off the few
boating business professionals we had here, and many of the more
experienced serious boaters.

The off-topic posts don't bother me if they have any sort of useful
information in them, and if they come from posters who have boats or a
demonstrated serious interest in boats. That would exclude a substantial
number of the posters here these days.

Most posters here are political conservatives, and many but not all seem
unable to tolerate those few of us with differing views. They want only
"white-breaders" like them here. One of those morons earlier today
insisted I "demonstate" my religious views were not "heathen."

Invite them Tim. I'd rather discuss boats with Christians than heathens
like Harry. At least they will be civil.

Now *that* is funny. You think that because I don't believe in the
delusion called christianity, I'm a heathen. Apparently you don't know
any more about religion than you do about anything else.

Now, before you get your wife's panties in a wad, remember that I think
the guy christians call jesus was a cool dude, if he existed. But
christianity, not so much.

Hey hk, you got that remark after you bad mouthed christians, not
before. Like a pushy selfish noisy nosey liberal POC, you seem to fell
everyone is trash if they are not a noisy nosey liberal POC like you.

Hey, I loath liberals because they tend to be this way. No remorse in
getting others to pay for it either. No respect for others types.

But here, I kick back.

Told ya already...the immediate goals are to get the ID spoofers and ID
screen name changers to stop their childish behavior, and to get herring
to stop making his snarky remarks with virtually everything he posts here.

These would be the first steps in trying to make rec.boats a more
hospitable place. Until the boys start to behave, I see no possibility
of this newsgroup returning to being a "boating" newsgroup, nor do I see
any point in writing up a detailed post about boating, only to see the
mostly non-boaters in here go into immediate "attack mode." I engage in
boating posts in other places, where the moderators would ban posters
like...well...never mind. :)

Frankly, I don't see any hope for rec.boats as a mostly boating
newsgroup. I stay around because there are a few folks here I like and
find interesting, but only a few, and their numbers are dwindling or
they have become less active. On the other hand, there are a few posters
who seem intent on driving out those who disagree with them politically.

As an aside, I don't mind off-topic posts if they are interesting. There
are so few real boaters here that if the topics were mostly strictly
boating-related, there would be about two interesting boating posts
every three days.

If you have better suggestions to accomplish these goals of getting the
ID spoofers and snarkers like herring to stop, let's hear them. And
let's not suggest we "ignore" them, because I did that for a long, long
time with my filters, and they never ceased.

Have a good day.

Harry Krause and Don White are the commanders of the Dope Army.

If only that was so!
We'd make men out of that pathetic bunch suffering under the ineffectual
command of Lt Colonel JohnPreparationH.

What branch of the Canadian Forces did you server in Don?

What has that got to do with your Doper Army?

As for boating discussions, it's not much fun when the usual
right-wing
assholes crap on every discussion.

Why feed it?

Why respond to Harrys preposterous insinuations? You know as
well as
everyone else here it is he and his cronies that take boating
discussions off topic as soon as one of us tries to get
involved. When
he blames others here, it's just nonsense, really Tim... Really?

Rowdy Mouse Racing - We race for cheese!

Maybe Tim can decide for himself who he corresponds with........
he sure
doesn't need your advice..... Freak.

That's what most of the problems in this newsgroup are about.
A certain group (Dopey Army & wannabees) have banded together in a
feeble
attempt to control this newsgroup.

Damned right we would, little buddy. What with our vast military
experience, we'd have them in shape in no time. Hold, wait, never
mind....
