I've been following rec.boats and conversing with Harry since about
1995.
At times I get tired of some of the BS and of my participation in it.
There are many things I am in agreement with Harry.
There are many I am not. But it's only a newsgroup and participation
is
entirely voluntary.

I like to think that I can participate and have disagreements without
having
to make personal attacks punctuated with profanity for effect. Not
always
successful, but I try.

rec.boats took a decided turn for the worst just prior to the elections
of
2000 and it hasn't recovered since. Before then, most posts were
somewhat
boating related and were often sprinkled with humor .... sometimes
downright
hilarious. Personality conflicts existed but they were nowhere near as
mean spirited as today.

Hate to break it to you, but my participation and with whom I converse
is
not yours to decide.
You are a big boy and can deal with your own battles, should you choose
to
fight. I'd add that you often contribute little snippets that only
fuel
the fire.

SnottyScotty and Herring frequently "demand" that other posters stop
