What do you talk about
 

Spending 3 days aboard with your 23 yr old daughter, what do you talk
about. The most surprising thing is that we never talked about
science which we normally discuss. Instead, it was "How do you know
your bf (or gf) is "THE ONE"". Where should they go in their
futures? My advice, "Do not settle down in any single place yet even
if it is good financially, adventures when they are both young will
count for more than money"
Will ObamaCare help her and her BF with pre-existing medical
conditions? I really do not know? She was diagnosed with melanoma
when she was 17 (nearly a redhead with white skin) and has had some
pre-malkignant things removed since so she is uninsurable until she is
24 and clear for 5 yrs. Her bf has a congenital ankle problem that
has him walking with a cane when he overstresses it and it will cost
him to get it fixed. He just had it assessed and found it will cost
about $5000 to fix. I said, IS THAT ALL?", I'll pay that for him even
if they do not get married. The kid is a real entrepreneur having
started 3 businesses and supporting himself for yeaqrs (he is 25).
None of his businesses has worked out but I gotta admire him for it.
Talked about my marraige to Kathy and that although we argue non-stop,
we have been married 31 years but the good far outweighs the bad.
Even if the other partner is not exactly "THE ONE", you grow
together. You have to both be too stubborn to give up on marraige
when things get tough.
Do not be afraid to commit to him. He wants to get married but she
wants to wait fearful it will limit her school possibilities (grad
school).
What should a person's legacy be? Should it only be children?
And lots of other things.
