There's absolutely no question about that, usually two or three times
the original estimate. *And the more you dig into an old boat, the
more you find to fix. It doesn't stop, and in the end you still own an
old boat. * Unless it has genuine antique/collector value it almost
never pays to do an extensive restoration. *There are too many good
used boats out there that don't need much work (at least at first
glance).


There's an old saying that goes something like this: *"If you want to
work on a boat, build one. *If you want to use a boat, buy one."


There's nothing wrong with working on boats. *I've done a lot of it,
but it's important to understand the value equation.


I would take that a step farther and say "if want to use a boat RENT
one".



Another step.

"If you want to use a boat. buy gas and go out with your friend who
has one..."
