So, clean prop, new prop strut and new bottom paint (did you know
Trinidad is now $250/gallon) so I am ready to cruise past Cape Coral
and thru Lake Okechobee and to Stuart.

Froggy should hire someone to follow him in a reliable chase boat...a boat
that has been properly maintained and is operated by someone who knows
how. It's his only hope.
Even well maintained boats have problems. Acquaintance runs a 105' party
boat for long range tuna fishing charters. he is 300 miles off Cabo and one
prop shaft runs with no drive force. Figured he lost a prop. Dives under
to look at the shaft and see a tractor tire has managed to completely
enclose the prop. Could not cut off the tire with the equipment aboard.
Including scuba gear. 300 miles to Cabo on one engine and have to have the
boat drydocked to remove the tire. **** happens. You do not use your boat
enough to worry about breakage.



Yes, Bill, I know...even properly maintained boats can have problems.
But the boat under discussion here is poorly maintained.
