PHOENIX – The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office in Arizona has launched
a two-day, countywide crime and immigration sweep that authorities say
will focus on drop houses, drug violators and human smuggling
vehicles.

Four hundred deputies and volunteer posse members are taking part in
the patrols. The sweep, which began Thursday, is Sheriff Joe Arpaio's
14th since early 2008.

During the sweeps, deputies flood an area of a city — in some cases
heavily Latino areas — to seek out traffic violators and arrest other
alleged lawbreakers.

Critics (Hispanic Fifth Column traitors) say Arpaio's deputies have
racially profiled Hispanics. The sheriff says deputies approach people
only when they have probable cause to believe people have committed
crimes.

Arizona is blessed to have Arpaio in office. Compare his actions to

1. There's nothing in the article indicating the sheriff is conducting
an "immigration sweep." He is arresting violators of state and local
law, as he should.

2. The Supreme Court cases Mack v. US and Printz v. US state that the
feds cannot force local sheriffs to enforce federal law.

3. The no good scumbag who encouraged illegals to stay in this country
by awarding them amnesty was St. Ronald Reagan. Why conservatives
idolize such a man -- whose tax policies caused the National Debt to
skyrocket as a percent of GDP, and whose energy policies kept us more
dependent on the goodwill of radical Islamists than ever -- I will
never know.

No he's not. And the central government has not failed since they are
operating to plan.

The battle against illegal immigrants will result in us carrying around
papers like it's 1930s Germany if allowed to progress. The RealID act
has mostly failed so the federal government is going to make another run
at it.

RealID is going to be enforced by the TSA. I bet it won't be long
before you can't get on a plane without a "real ID" unless you get
"enhanced" screening.
It is already hard to cash a check or rent a car if you don't have the
new style driver's license in Florida. They want to swipe that mag
stripe on the back. My bank won't even take my CCW as ID.



Just for grins, I used my Maryland CCW* as my photo ID on my recent
trip. Worked fine, didn't even get a comment or a stronger than usual
body/carryon bag search.
