Pancake and sausage day?

Yeah, Shrove day. That's for the ecuminical protestants like
Episcopal, Lutheran, Dutch Reform etc.

Reminds me of the old saying. T"he only difference between Lutherans
and Roman Catholics, is that Lutherans are Catholics that couldn't
pass latin class"

Yeah, well I just got back from cooking about 350 pancakes and many pounds of
link sausage for a bunch of Lutherans. They provide a great band, and we had a
pretty nice Shrove Tuesday!

John, did you get your fill of grease and leavened bread to last you
for a while?

I'd forgotten that I was supposed to do that until the day before. By then I'd
already bought myself a beautiful rib steak and some collard greens. So, I
didn't eat any of the pancakes or sausages.

So the answer is 'no'.

But, I had a great dinner nevertheless. My wife was out of town, so I could do
my own thing.

Yeah, but then I don't have to worry about spitting chewing tobaccy in it.
