Feb 10: Camanche Lake Trout (Near Stockton, Ca)

My fishing buddy, John, and I headed to Camanche for our first visit
of the year.

We trolled from 1000 to 1500, landing just five trout to 1½ pounds.
The first came in open water near Hat Island, the rest came much later
at a shallow point southeast of Little Hat Island.

Downriggers were unnecessary; we used one for about an hour and a half
for zilch. All the fish took Firetiger Rapalas on the surface. We
tried orange grubs, worms behind dodgers, and a few others. Only the
Rapalas brought in the fish.

Maybe next time we can get into some bigger ones.

Thanks for the TR Dale,

When you say "trolled from 1000 to 1500" what exactly do you mean?

Thanks for sharing,
JT

Nice report, Dale. If you want to get rid of some of those stinking
fish, you're welcome to pack 'em in some dry ice and ship them to me.
I'll make sure they're properly disposed of.
