I can't believe people actually think she is worthy to become the President
of the United States.
Up here, she wouldn't make city mayor let alone Provincial Premier or Prime
Minister of the country.

I think *they* like her because she didn't let her knocked up daughter
get an abortion...and of course she invited the guy who raped her
underage daughter move into the family house once the daughter was
pregnant. For some reason, that really appeals to right-wing nitwits.

Apparently, she didn't do that well as governor for her 1/2 term. The 'first

My comments were to correct the nonsense spewed on this thread by
Harry, and which you seem to endorse since you've chosen to defend it
and claiming she's "a joke". She is no joke. She has a lot of
executive experience of which Obrother had none; the executive job he
now has is very obviously over his head. He should have at least been
mayor of a small town, perhaps, then maybe governor of a small state.
He'd have learned a bit of knowledge that he badly needs even today.

My point isn't that she's presidential material, which she may or may
not be. However, we recently elected a totally unequipped,
inexperienced, former neighborhood organizer to the job; Palin is waay
more qualified than he. My point is she's no joke. If she's a joke
with her experience, what does that make Obrother?!

No, Palin didn't "right" the book, you are right there. But your
larger point is that she's a joke. So here are some excerpts from
Wikipedia of her record:

====================
She was a member of the Wasilla, Alaska city council from 1992 to
1996, and the city's mayor from 1996 to 2002

She chaired the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission from 2003
until she resigned in 2004

On July 3, 2009, Palin announced she would not seek reelection as
governor and that she was resigning effective July 26, 2009, eighteen
months before the completion of her term. She cited ethics complaints
that had been filed following her selection as running mate to John
McCain as one of the reasons for her resignation, saying the resulting
investigations had affected her ability to govern the state.

She was also elected president of the Alaska Conference of Mayors

During her first year in office, Palin kept a jar with the names of
Wasilla residents on her desk. Once a week, she pulled a name from it
and picked up the phone; she would ask: "How's the city doing?" Using
income generated by a 2% sales tax that was enacted before she was
elected to the city council, Palin cut property taxes by 75% and
eliminated personal property and business inventory taxes

2008, Wasilla's current mayor credited Palin's 75 percent property tax
cuts and infrastructure improvements with bringing "big-box stores"
and 50,000 shoppers per day to Wasilla. A local gun store owner said
Palin made the town "more of a community ... It's no longer a little
strip town that you can blow through in a heartbeat." At the
conclusion of Palin's tenure as mayor in 2002, the city had about
6,300 residents.
===============
Also, she has sold over a million books - most of which were in the
first weeks of release. She has a strong following. Many people
embrace her political positions.

Ok. I'm done. I don't have the ability to change your hate for her
world view, but I have clearly pointed out that she is no joke. Take
it or leave it.

Three items? She couldn't remember them? And, she crossed one out.

You don't think she's qualified to be POTUS. She wasn't even capable of
being gov.

It kind of reminds me about her general level of hypocrisy - someone who
uses teleprompters criticizing Obama for, wait for it, using teleprompters.

Or, Emanuel should be fired for using the word retarded, but being unwilling
to criticize Rush.

Her book was filled with lies and half truths, but beyond that, she played
games with buying them herself, so she could use the money elsewhere.

She is much more qualified than Obama ever was, and one day may be

Reply: What "legitimate comment"?? She was governor of Alaska for 1/2
her
term, then she quit. She didn't even right the book and it sold for
$4.99.

Tell us about the notes she wrong on her hand... she's a joke.

--
Nom=de=Plume

Reply: She's a quiter. She wouldn't even follow through on her commitment
to
Alaska. She's a racist and a looney who endorsed a witch doctor. I haven't
read any of Harry's posts in quite a while. While you can't even show the
president enough respect to spell his name right. You're the one who's
obviously in over your head.

Reply: May or may not be??? She's a huge joke, and she damaging the
Republican party.

No, Palin didn't "right" the book, you are right there. But your
larger point is that she's a joke. So here are some excerpts from
Wikipedia of her record:

====================
She was a member of the Wasilla, Alaska city council from 1992 to
1996, and the city's mayor from 1996 to 2002

Reply: Have you ever been to Wasilla? I have. It's a nothing town, tiny.
The
mayor hardly does anything. There's even a youtube with the current mayor
saying so.

She chaired the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission from 2003
until she resigned in 2004

Reply: She did nothing except promote big oil and gas. And, yes, she
resigned.

Reply: Yeah, and she lied about her non-ethics violations, and she
continues
to lie about them. She's a quitter and a flip flopper. Remember the bridge
to nowhere???

She was also elected president of the Alaska Conference of Mayors

Reply: Wow... the smallest population state in the US. Ok. you got me
there.

Reply: She kept a jar with names in it???? That's your defense of her???
Heh. Now that's funny!

Reply: I guess the crime rate in Wasilla wasn't her concern. Where did she
get the money from to give the tax breaks??

===============
Also, she has sold over a million books - most of which were in the
first weeks of release. She has a strong following. Many people
embrace her political positions.

Reply: How many did she buy herself? How many people changed there mind
about her after reading her book of lies?

Ok. I'm done. I don't have the ability to change your hate for her
world view, but I have clearly pointed out that she is no joke. Take
it or leave it.

Reply: Don't hate her... she's a joke. One doesn't usually hate a clown.

--

I didn't say you hated her; I said you hated her world view.

Unless she has a brain transplant, I doubt I could in 2012 either.

I also am disappointed in Obama's political skills ... or lack of. I don't
agree with much of what
he promotes either. That said, this country (and many others) have some
very serious
economic problems to solve. Those that focus on placing blame aren't
helpful at all in solving
those problems. I am an engineer. I tend to focus on fixing the problem,
not casting blame.
It is what it is, sorta attitude,

I am a firm believer that the eventual solution to this mess is in providing
appropriate incentives to
business ... primarily small businesses ... to encourage expansion,
investment and growth. It's the only
way to chip away at the scary unemployment numbers that exist.

Do you realize that in addition to an "actual" 25% unemployment rate,
something like 23% of those working Americans are working part time, are
"temps", consultants, independent job-by-job contractors or otherwise not
working conventional full-time jobs?

Time to wake up, drop the politics and fix the damn problem.
