A LOT more than what happened to Rush Limbaugh with his "Barack The Magic Negro" song..... To be fair and balanced, that is..... Mitch McConnell was smart enough not to engage in this.... he knows, historically, this is a lose-lose proposition for the Republicans. How smart are you? I find it hilarious that the right wanted to make comparisons and claim a double-standard with Trent Lott. They forgot about good ol' boy Trent puting his leg in his mouth on any number of ocassions and no one being eager to rush to his aid. Including his own party peers. |

Aparrently not smart enough to be afraid to ask How it's going. Has it been swept under the rug already. There certainly is a lot of dirt under that rug, don't you think? |

... 'Harry[_2_ Wrote: ;774817']What ever happened after his terrible remarks? Not much. The dems are rallying around him. It's OK for them to make such comments but if you sit on the other side of the aisle, heaven help you. Come on... he said something in a clumsy way that's probably got some truth to it. He's got a long history of civil rights. I think what Clinton said (about serving coffee) was much more mean-spirited, and he should have known better. -- Nom=de=Plume |

Reid probably talks a lot more candidly around his white friends back in Nevada and this just slipped out. It wasn't really that long ago that Nevada was Jim Crow. About as long ago as Alabama. I don't think it was a matter of being more or less candid. I think it was just a poor choice of words. If you're in someone's mobile home, would you go out of your way to claim that the white trash who live in trailer are more prone to tornado attacks or would you say that people who live in mobile homes are more prone to tornado attacks? See the difference. He was inarticulate. -- Nom=de=Plume |

He said it meaning that Obama didn't have the experience that others had. |

To be even further fair and balanced you can castigate the LA Times for originating "Barak the Magic Negro" Mitch McConnell was smart enough not to engage in this.... he knows, historically, this is a lose-lose proposition for the Republicans. How smart are you? I guess it is ok for Democrats to be racists, in the name of fairness and balance. They, the Democrats, are the party of slavery, the KKK, segregation and other atrocious actions and activities against the non- whites. One slip by Reid and you're ready for the cross burning but a lifetime of Trent Lott's purposeful hatred is the best the Republicans have for comaprison? |
