I'm supposed to meet a guy to play golf in about an hour. The temp
outside, now, is 27F. Luckily, the wind is only about 15mph.

I'm secretly hoping he'll call to cancel. Damn if I'll cave first!

And what does that have to do with global warming? I asked in a thread
earlier when the unscientific right will say that global warming isn't
happening because an arctic front has moved south. I think I have my

Not really. You are the only one using the term "global warming". "Climate
change" does not necessarily equate to global warming. The high today in my
location is 45 and clear, relative humidity 48%. Yesterday it was 54 and
cloudy, relative humidity 68%. That's climate change.

Climate is long term, weather (which you are talking about here) is
short term.

cli·mate /'kla?m?t/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [klahy-mit] Show IPA
Use Climate in a Sentence

?noun 1. the composite or generally prevailing weather conditions of a
region, as temperature, air pressure, humidity, precipitation, sunshine,
cloudiness, and winds, throughout the year, averaged over a series of

2. a region or area characterized by a given climate: to move to a warm
climate.

As opposed to weather:

Idioms: pull someone's chain

1. Make someone speak out of turn, as in Who pulled your chain?--It's
none of your business. [1920s]
2. Make someone angry, especially deliberately, as in Teenagers
really know how to pull their parents' chains. [c. 1960] Both usages
allude to the literal sense of chain-pulling, that is, "causing
someone to do something, as though activated by a chain."

So what! S FL Cold snaps use to last as long as two or three weeks

I would rather deal with a few cold days of winter, rather than swarms

It is friggin cold here in S. FL also.

You can say that again.

It's cold in S. FL. also.

So what! * S FL Cold snaps use to last as long as two or three weeks
in a row. *Now they only last a few days when the wind is blowing out
of the NNW.

I would rather deal with a few cold days of winter, rather than swarms
of winter time mosquitoes and other pests. *And if we're real lucky,
this cold snap will also reduce the population of invading iguanas.

Thomas, are you trying to tell us that you believe in all the Al Gore
****?

I sincerely hope not.- Hide quoted text -

John, there's a difference in believing "all the Al Gore ****" and
using scientific data to draw a conclusion that global warming is
occuring.

And what does that have to do with global warming? I asked in a thread
earlier when the unscientific right will say that global warming isn't
happening because an arctic front has moved south. I think I have my
answer!
Do you think he might be commenting on the weather rather than the climate?
Did you see the title of the thread?
Yes I did.

Well, then the answer is before your eyes. He was talking about
CLIMATE. The word "weather" was never in the original post. The word
"climate" was.

This is proof that your comprehender has gone tilt just like Harry's.- Hide quoted text -

Well, then. Comprehend for me, why does the word "climate" mean
exactly the same as "weather" to you? YOU are the one saying that Frog
meant "weather", even though he says above that he said what he said
just to get a reaction! SO, it's YOUR comprehension that needs looking
at.

Well, if he said it to really get a reaction it stands he was kidding,
in which case, he really said nothing at all!

Now there you go again with that faulty comprehender. Show me where you
got the notion that climate and weather are the same in my mind. Do you
have any idea what the word "might" means?

I think Loog needs a tee shirt like that guy from Mythbusters.. It says,
"I reject you reality and substitute my own". ;)

I'm supposed to meet a guy to play golf in about an hour. The temp
outside, now, is 27F. Luckily, the wind is only about 15mph.

I'm secretly hoping he'll call to cancel. Damn if I'll cave first!

Sorry John, but that's just dumb... If you are gonna' act like some half
cocked kid, you might as well get a bottle of cheap hooch and get
plastered before you finish the front side;)
