How does Wal-Mart sell you all of that foreign crap for 1/2 price? Yep, that's right.... "WE pay the difference!" And not a peep.... Isn't it amzaing that the raw materials can be shipped to China. Those raw materials cam be manufactured into a product. And, then the product can be shipped back to the US and sold for less than product can be produced in the US. You think plastic comes from the US? Well duh. Of course we manufacture plastic in the US? What is wrong with you idiots. Injection mould, repackaging and manufacture are different hings. Ok, maybe some reminants left in Texas. Most comes in from offshore. |

In the GMAC case, we don't. And that is why it is marxist/statism. Americans no longer have the choice of which corporations they support. Obamanation will now tell Americans who the governmetn supports. Begining to sound like Chavez by anotehr name. BTW, I don't shop Walmart. I try not to buy Chinese made goods. You? |

Yep, that's right.... "WE pay the difference!" And not a peep.... Gene, as a long time friend, i do have to tell you, your analogy sucks. What is wrong with you. Are you suggesting we stop all trade? That we just stop all trade with China? That we allow everyone to trade with China except Walmart? or do you think we should stop all trade with China until we give Walmart (or is it China) 3.8 billion dollars. Given the propensity of the US government to interfere with business these days, I would not be buying any Walmart stock any time soon. Far over priced when factoring risk. Obama isn't holding the cards here either, but his arrogance could start a trade war that the US will certainly loose big time. For example: Obama taxes incoming goods to the US from China, China retaliates with a US foreign special tax. Walmart gets hurt big time, looses some $100b billion market cap killing 401ks left and right. And prices for stuff hits double or triple digit annual inflation if you can get it at all. Domestic sales plumet...cash flow dries up and Walmart going under domestically would make GM look liek a mosquito bite. Or the Chinese could dump some of the $2 trillion and flatten the USD to say $300 barrel of oil in value as no one wants the flood of USDs like that. And given the government is essentially broke and bankrupt itself creates a situation where the US will certainly pay dearly for screwing around. US people being rational will blame the real cause, far too much of a liberal left debt going on has screwed the USA in the ear. Both from people and from governemnt in 20+ years of debt fest. Now the piper has to be paid, and not with debt, what does Omaba do? Debt spend. Making us all so screwed. |

It subsidizes everything by keeping it's currency undervalued and real wages and any benefits very low. The aim of Marxist China is power not prosperity for the billions. A prosperous China would be a threat to the Marxist Jailers. |

Most comes in from offshore. OK, you morons, all the major oil refiners facilities in the US include crackers that allow them use the byproducts of oil refinery in the mfg'er of different kinds of plastics. This is the raw material that is then used in the US and outside of the US. Damn you right wing ****faces, don't you know anything? oh, this was the gun fearing idiot out west who didn't realize plastics was mfg'er in the US. Damn idiot, i hope the west coast falls into the ocean. They and jps are useless as tits on a bull. For the morons and idiots in this group (jps are you listening, or do you have a gun to your head) here is how plastics are made: The technological road from oil field to finished plastic product has numerous fascinating side trips. Here’s the route taken in the petroleum-to-plastics process: 1. Petroleum is drilled and transported to a refinery. 2. Crude oil and natural gas are refined into ethane, propane, hundreds of other petrochemical products and, of course, fuel for your car. 3. Ethane and propane are "cracked" into ethylene and propylene, using high-temperature furnaces. 4. Catalyst is combined with ethylene or propylene in a reactor, resulting in "fluff," a powdered material (polymer) resembling laundry detergent. 5. Fluff is combined with additives in a continuous blender. 6. Polymer is fed to an extruder where it is melted. 7. Melted plastic is cooled then fed to a pelletizer that cuts the product into small pellets. 8. Pellets are shipped to customers. 9. Customers manufacture plastic products by using processes such as extrusion, injection molding, blow molding, etc. |

The 'foreign crap' at Wal-Mart is priced the same at Target, K-Mart, and most any other discount house. When was the last time the president gave $3.8billion to Wal-Mart? That was a pretty stupid analogy, Gene. So, you see some significance in the company? Uh.... OK... Where do you think the economy would be if 10% more of the workforce was unemployed? I must be missing something.
