Jim's low opinion of the Marine Corps. To suggest a uniformed
Marine would not show the proper respect to his CIC, demeans the
professionalism of the entire corps.
You're off 180 degrees. That marine could teach the guy in the suit a
lot about respect.

That could be true, but in the meanwhile, that's his CIC.

You're the one who's 180 degrees off, as usual.

If you hurt his feelings, flajim will start posting here as you, too.

What is your name?

This is another poseur. I have had it with these idiots spoofing my ID.
I resolve to stop posting in 2010, so if you see anyone using my ID,
you can rest assured it not me.

I kind of suspected that. I'll be looking forward to not seeing you in 2010.

I'm surprised at the Marine's left arm and fist. I'd expect the arm to
be straight down the side with the hand in a relaxed, open, position.
Maybe it was colder'n hell that day.

I noticed that too, it looked like he was getting ready to throw a
punch!

Can you say "photoshop"? I'll bet the marine was at ease with his
weapon.

That would explain the suit doing the quick step right there in front of
him.

I used to absolutely admire all members of the Armed Forces who were forced
to salute Bill Clinton. He would not even acknowledge them with eye
contact. It looked for the world just like Groucho Marx breezed by, Clinton
with his huffy attitude. My hats were off to those men who still gave
snappy salutes and stood at attention in honor and respect for the position
and not the man. Same goes for the clown in there now.

Well, one thing's for su The Marine has to salute him, but he
doesn't have to respect him. Maybe he was keeping that right fist
clenched to keep his middle finger from 'accidentally' popping out.

I think a good Marine would respect him too, no?

The left hand's finger should be curled and the thumb should be along
the seam in (i.e. parallel to) the trousers. It is natural to tense up
when you come to a rigid position of attention when saluting.

Why? I don't have a lot of respect for him, although I respect his
position and authority. A smart Marine can probably see what the guy
is trying to do to this country.

Well, I guess that depends who you're saluting and just how tense the
guy makes you. It almost looks like Obama is going to rub noses with
the guy. That'd make me pretty tense also.
