They have an acting director. It's not like there's no one in charge. I wonder why the Senate hasn't gotten around to it... perhaps it's been the obstructionism going on by the Republicans, who are continually threatening the filibuster, even with Defense bills? Nah, couldn't be that... The TSA is an executive branch department. Obama has to appoint the director. I am not even sure they have to be ratified by the senate at that level. It would be a rubber stamp thing anyway. It's an appointment and it needs to be approved by the senate. It's being held up, as I said, by the right-wing. If you're not sure, look it up instead of guessing. OK that was easy, there is no hit on TSA confirmation on Thomas. There has not been a bill with those words introduced in the senate or the house. Now back to you. Who's confirmation IS being held up? The Senate. Try again. In any case, be it Obamanation hasn't submitted a name or the senate hasn't got off their pork barrel asses, in either case it is a Democrat issue. Also untrue. Only in your mind. Fortunately, I have one. Dumb, weak spin. Try again... Rob |

Detroit, ruled for many years by a Dem mayor and by the unions is a failed city more resembling Mogadishu than a US city. Demo mis-rule has resulted in a dying economy with high unemployment and schools with a 24% graduation rate. Of course, if you want to see Dem economics on a larger scale, one can see the failed state of California, hopelessly broke with no possibility of paying its bills but the legislature still increases the budget to pay for pay increases for state employees. Then there is the War on Terror which we were assured was over, ooops, dont pay attention to the guy on the plane landing in............Detroit. On Thursday, I was told by a local Demofool that having TSA check for "build a bomb e-route" materials was stupid because it could not happen..........oooops. Sorta reminds me of when Clinton was Pres and George Will wrote an article about using aircraft as weapons against buildings and the Dems said it was just a paranoid fantasy...ooopps. Now the union Members are somehow responsible, for Islamic Terrorism, and the Globalist Banking theft, of our economy and almost collapse. idiot. They will solve airplane terrorism by making everyone, including crew board naked, as a jay bird, and handcuffing them to the seats. The luggage will be sent by ground transport. Makes me wonder why the Bus lines and Railroads aren't even in the hunt for passengers. Can nom prove Bush was warned about 9/11? I can prove Clinton was offered Bin Laden and refused. Nah, no relationshipe tween the nearly $2000 extra a GM vehicle costs relative to a foreign car and union gold plated pensions and overpaid union workers. Global theft, oh, you mean the rotund Barney Frank. I don't think their is anyone that believes Bush etc had anything to do with 9/11. The people that try to infer that junk are trying to rabble rouse. 2,000 extra? How about the Joan Clabrooks and NHTSA and EPA? How about the bean counter engineering from Wall Street? Gold plated pensions must mean being able to afford anything but McDonalds. McDonalds is no longer a valid representation of "cheap in comparison". The other night we ordered two burgers and two fries, it came to 12 dollars. For the price of a meal (with desert) at McDonalds, now you can sit down at several local establishments for a nice fresh cooked meal... You have to learn to use their 'dollar menu' and drink 'senior coffee'. Four chicken sandwiches and a cup of coffee for less than five bucks. Take the chicken off two of the sandwiches, put it on the other two. Now you've got two 'good' chicken sandwiches and a cup of coffee for five bucks. Cheap. Not that I would ever do that, of course. DAaaaayyyyyyeeeeemmmmmm John...;) Back in the 1960's we would buy a dozen McD burgers at 15 cents each. Take them back to where we worked on our race cars and lived and toss a1/2-2/3 of the buns and stack the extra paddies on the remaining buns. Made a decent burger then. $0.20 for a shake. Talk about inflation. Damn, back then I was a growing boy and wouldn't throw away anything. -- John H "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." Felt I was ripped off 3 cents. Didn't try your trick about throwing away the buns. Sinful in my family. Still prefer White Castle. Pretty much has to be an emergency to get me in McD. Tried the shake too. Phony. I could get a real ice cream malt for 30 cents. Even then the extra dime was worth it. After Charlie Manson, McD is probably the worse thing wrought by California. We stop there on the road for the bathrooms, and my wife can always eat their chicken. I confine myself to the biscuit/pork sausage/egg sandwiches early in the morning when we hit the road from a motel. Only place open usually, and she HAS to eat. But I always consider it an emergency when I stop there. Those biscuits go down good, but you pay later. --Vic |

Kids used to have me get a bunch to bring home to Calif when I went to Chicago on business. You can go to the Little Tavern (DC) and get a similar product. I think the Little Tavern uses more onions. Still the same silver dollar sized, 30% fat, burger, on a steamed bun. I used to buy 2 every morning at 17th and Pa. ave. my way to school. I think they were a dime each then. Mc Donalds at 15 cents did not seem that out of line. Do you remember Ollie's Trolley's? Always hold the burger perpendicular to your body otherwise you will get a load of grease down your arm. They have a store front location but it isn't the same as the old places in the parking lots all around town. Damn I miss them. |
