I think that is the son of a guy who used to do that show in air shows
around the country. Had a bright yellow J3 Cub - same show too.

Great flying although those STOL aircraft practically fly themselves.

Used to be an act around that would land a J3 on a moving flat bed
truck.

Saw a similar act up in Reinbeck (sp?) New York many decades ago...
Great air show up there.

Yup, his Dad was Jimmy Franklin. You're right in that he flew a super cub as
well in his shows, as well as the Waco for which he was the most famous. He
died in a collision with another performer at an airshow 4-5 years ago as I
recall.

Yeah - I couldn't remember his name. I saw Franklin's act at the
Lakefront airport out towards the Industrial Canal in New Orleans -
funniest thing I ever saw in an airplane - early '70s and he had been
doing that act for a long time then.
