I personally vote for putting gunnys and 50 cal. and 20 mm guns on merchant ships, or at least a train cadre of anti-pirate personnel. And give them plenty of lethal hardware. A LAW missle oughta do it against one of those little pirate boats. It's simple math. One LAW, one boat, nothing left over. Steve The range of a LAW isn't sufficient. It would allow the pirates to get within RPG range of a *much* bigger target. Good ole' Ma Deuce should do the trick. http://tinyurl.com/yefk3zr -- John H |

Steve The ones not permitting defense of vessels, are Company Owners, Insurance Carriers and National Governments. Once on the ocean they can do as they please about being armed. Once they port is the problem. As far as fisheries, it won't make any difference. The ones devastating the fisheries are the new using the UN. They have no use for the UN except if it will get them their way. Bi bad ole USA would get regulated while gumbia, and numbia, rape and pillage. I'm sure Somalia war lords will sing on the dotted line.....not. |

Let me get this straight. You want the UN to come in and take over the fish
waters of the United States AND top American fishermen from fishing there AND allow Japan and other Countrys to come in and take all the fish. You people do not make any sense at all. I guess that is why you are LIBERALS "Don White" wrote in message ... "Tom Francis - SWSports" wrote in message ... In Nevada, there are lots and lots and lots of places where one can ride ATVs to dry lakes that were used in WWII for training. One is on the outskirts of NW LV, and houses are being built up to it. Lots of 50 BMG shells laying all over the place. Thousands and thousands, actually. Many live. We find some 20mm but not a lot. Bazillions of 30 cal, some with the connectors on them. But the neat thing is finding a bullet that has hit something hard, and the copper jacket peeled back like a banana, and that little armor piercing core still sharp after sixty some years. I can't imagine getting hit by one of those, although nowdays they use an explosive round, and they are very nasty if you've ever seen the videos from Iraq. mwv.iraqinight is my favorite. NastyMeds is a good sniper one from Afghanistan. I can't understand why the shippers won't put a Ma Deuce on the bow and one on the stern and just blow these little punks **** into the water. Do that a couple of times, and all this hoopla would end. Steve |
