Glimmers of Hope and Despair
First the good news.
http://www.ibinews.com/ibinews/newsd...27ibinews.html "Brunswick's Meridian Yachts brand said it has recalled workers to its facility Palm Coast, Florida as the builder prepares to ramp up production. About 40 per cent of the work force in Palm Coast had been laid over the last 12 months as demand declined." Now, the bad news. They'll be making more of these. http://images02.olx.com/ui/2/63/43/f_25596043_1.jpeg NOTE: The preceding is the author's opinion only. Others may disagree. --Vic |

Is it a gussied up Bayliner or something completely different? Don't know, first heard of it in the BoatTest e-mail I get. Nice video there. http://www.boattest.com/boats/boat_video.aspx?ID=1953 Most of the BoatTest boats are not my cuppa, and beyond my means anyway. But the e-mail is usually an interesting read and has interesting test vids and articles. --Vic |

New designs, in larger sizes. They were only behind the economic curve by a half decade. |

You should see my 36' Zimmerman like lobster boat! It's a beauty, with every option a person could want. My young southern belle wife really likes it, also. Sorry, I don't have any pictures of it.... But you have shared all of those pictures of your Parkers! You didn't actually lie about the lobster boat, did you? That would be narcissistic and pathetic. Rob |

New designs, in larger sizes. They were only behind the economic curve by a half decade. Nope, the first Meridians were actually smaller than the large Bayliners. I think the first one was a 49'er. They were having a hard time selling a million buck boat witht the Bayliner name. Previously was the Bayliner 57 etc. Oh geez, you can't miss a chance to be difficult. They were smaller than the largest Bayliner at the time but were focused on larger size vessels. Most of the Bayliner series remained in shorter lengths. They kept the smaller boats as Bayliners, but the 6+figure boats were a hard sell with the Bayliner name. So spooled off another brand name. Same factory, etc. I think the factory was even in the Puget Sound area. |
