What is wrong with these people?

Family Values Rule!!!

From Crooks & Liars:

The Scott County court clerk confirms a felony complaint has been
filed against former Missouri House Speaker Rod Jetton for an incident
that allegedly took place Nov. 15 in Sikeston, Mo.

The complaint alleges Jetton "recklessly caused serious physical
injury to ------- by hitting her on the head, and choking her
resulting in unconsciousness and the loss of the function of part of
her body."

UPDATE, 3:50: The affidavit attached to the probable cause statement
alleges Jetton went to the home of the victim Nov. 15, where he and
the victim drank wine and watched a football game. The victim claims
Jetton hit her on the face and choked her, leaving bruises that the
police department photographed.

The affidavit claims the assault occurred during the night and into
the morning of Nov. 16. It says Jetton and the victim agreed on a
"safe word" "to use as a stop word during intercourse."

The safe word was allegedly "green balloons." The next day, Jetton
allegedly told the victim: "You should have said green balloons." Read
on...

Brutal. Jetton is the former Missouri House Speaker, but his biggest
claim to fame was working as a political adviser to Mitt Romney during
his failed presidential campaign in 2008. Known as "jedijetton" on
Twitter, Rod tweets about attending CPAC -- and here's a photo of him
with everybody's favorite conservative battle axe, Phyillis Schlafly.

Wonkette adds the finishing touches to this story:

Rod Jetton is married with three children and attends Methodist church
regularly. He is affiliated with the Republican Party. He is a Real
American, the end.

Would you be posting these antics if the suspect in question was a
Democrat?

Probably not.

But before you place total sex scandals on the Conservative Republican
party, you should take a look he

The difference is the hypocracy. Both groups have members who get embroiled
in these sorts of things. The difference is that the Republicans claim a
moral high ground.

This sort of perverted behavior is discovered far more frequently
among Republicans than Dems. It's damned near a daily occurance.

If R's weren't so given to being rhetorically puritanical and playing
lilywhite angels, perhaps they wouldn't be so attracted to violating
normal codes of conduct.

When you tell a human they can't, they want to. When you tell a human
they can, they're more likely to examine the option and decide it's
not for them.

How the hell can you yell Green Balloons when you're being choked?

Creepy.

You missed a few Republicans just from the last eight years. Here we
go:

*Jim Gibbons (Governor, NV) - Infidelity, spousal abuse, assault,
threatening rape.

*Randall Tobias (Global AIDS coordinator, Bush administration) -
Infidelity, admitted hiring prostitutes.

*Joseph McDade (PA-10 from 1963-1999, current GOP lobbyist) - Arrested
for indecent exposure in 2008.

*Glenn Murphy Jr. (President of the Young Republican National
Federation) - Pled guilty in 2008 to deviate conduct after performing
unwanted oral sex on a man while he slept.

*John David Roy Atchison (Republican prosecutor, appointed Assistant
US Attorney by GW Bush) - Charged with soliciting sex from a five
year-old girl in 2007, committed suicide three weeks later.

*Ted Haggard (Close adviser to President Bush) - Hired male
prostitutes, forced to resign in 2007.

*Jeffrey Ray Nielsen (Head of Orange County Republican Party, close
adviser to Representatives Dana Rohrabacher and Scott Baugh) -
Arrested in 2006 for having sex with a 14 year-old boy.

*David Hager (Bush appointee to FDA) - Adultery, sodomized wife while
she was sleeping.

*Ed Schrock (VA-02 from 2000-2004) - Adultery, forced to retire after
tapes emerged showing him soliciting gay sex.
