YIKES, turns out, my EPIRB is dead from a cracked case and water
intrusion. They are offering me a new one with new technology for
half price which I am agreeing to.
However, my Huge bulkhead mounted Suunto compass has leaked so I have
had to replace its spherical cartridge ($100). Re-arming kits for the
auto-inflate life jackets are now over $60 each. The engine stop
cable is bad ($30). Starboard green nav light is out and I had to buy
the set for ($100). Two new deep cycle batteries ($160).

Gee, what do you do with the cases on your epirb and compass? Use them
to crack open beer bottles?

I'll bet your boat's bottom is full of blisters, too.

If you are flajim, herring, loogy, GC boater, johnson, topbassdog, rob,
or one of a half dozen others, you're wasting your time by trying to
*communicate* with me through rec.boats, because, well, you are among
the permanent members of my dumbfoch dumpster. As always, have a nice,
simple-minded day.

Replacement for the old Fastfind Plus will be the Fastfind 210.

Well, you know the definition of boat: A hole in the water into which
one pours money. :)

I'm surprised at the rearming kits - what kind of inflatables are
they? I just got new kits for mine and they sure as hell weren't $60
- mine are Mustangs and the kits were $16 each. My Mustang jacket has
a little different rearming kit, but it's still less than $20.

Obama should distribute some wealth your way. You certainly need
"Change"! Write him and let him know you will stimulate the economy
with off-shore fuel purchases once you are ship shape! The folks at
West Marine will benefit with profits from the sale of these Asian
imports, too.

Well, the Fastfind 210 is made in Britain and the Suunto compass is
made in Finland and the Yanmar stop cable is made in Japan.

My West Marine / Sterns last kit was $39. Expensive hook the manual inflate
on the bottom of the air ride seat.

Looking over West Marine receipts but cannot tell if it was for one or
two re-arms. I also have the older style that are hard to find. The
re-arm included the CO2 cartridge cuz my wife insists on testing them
every couple years.
