President Obama hasn't even made it through his first year in office and already talk about Hillary is starting up. Heh - how about that. |

Or, would she have been better off staying in the Senate and being a loyal Democrat and then turning when Obama became a failure as President? What are the odds that she will serve out the full four years as Sec of State? If not, will she be fired or resign? My money is on her getting fired within 6 months. Based upon what? (Malaise and stagflation, with foreign policy in shambles) and if the GOP actually came up with a credible candidate. I haven't seen that guy yet. I still say the GOP threw away the last election, assuming they were going to lose anyway and not wanting to sacrifice anyone good. McCain was still going to be in the senate and Palin was just an experiment. If she had stayed in Alaska she would still be a star. I don't think the GOP had anyone really good in 2008, and I haven't seen anyone emerge who has the potential of being really good. Romney continues to make a fool of himself. Palin continues to make a fool of herself. Gingrich has integrity and old marital issues that will knock him out of contention. Plus, the GOP is being pushed further and further to the right by the evangelicals and other extremist lunatics. Look what they are trying to do to Charlie Crist in Florida. Crist is a popular guy who has done a reasonable job as governor of Florida, and a fellow who could attract a lot of Dem and Indy voters. He would win the Senate seat. So, what are the GOP nutcases doing? Jeb has a fairly attractive son tho, and he is actually hispanic (mom's side) so he is really positioned to do well in a rapidly "browning" country. He is in the Navy intelligence community right now and may be deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan (no doubt to get his "I ain't a chicken hawk" ticket punched). McCain was still going to be in the senate and Palin was just an experiment. If she had stayed in Alaska she would still be a star. Actually, the people in Alaska were pretty fed up with her, according to polls just before she resigned. Her popularity had dropped considerably. My point was, if she had ducked the nomination and stayed in Alaska she would still be a star. I think all the negative publicity for her hurt Alaska. (although I bet a few more people probably got out of their car in Wasilla and walked around, on their way to Denali). I don't think that would have been the case. They were getting pretty fed up with her before McCain tapped her. That is not true at all. We are rewriting history now. Polls had her as the most popular governor in the country in the summer of 08. That is why they picked her. They picked her because she was a "babe" in Kawasaki glasses who could put on a good snark attack. The Minnesota-like speech pattern worked well at introduction but wore thin with repeated exposure. She's parlaying her popularity into something, probably radio or television. The hard cores will tune in. Competition for Rush? She'll need to secure something quickly before the bloom is completely off the rose. My bet, Fox TV show. She'll have to compete with Dobbs for the job... Was it Jon Stewart who was skewering Fox for Geraldo being the voice of reason? Are pigs flying now? Maybe he's protecting his turf from John Stossel, although neither is a voice of reason in the real world. Just at Fox News. |

I'd be in favor of her going to Headline News if she could bump Nancy Grace. I can't stand hearing that woman's voice for an eight of a second before I'm ready to move on. |

On the other hand I wouldn't mind having her along on a week long Caribbean cruise...as long as she didn't talk too much. Her voice and delivery is a bit irritating to my ears. Is it that cold out already up there? You are inside, jerking it to Palin while you watch - Oprah? Rob I think Johnny (the preacher) Herring had better have a word with you. I don't have to get approval from other people, Don. Life actually doesn't work that way. Trust me. Rob |

Funny that he'd suggest you were jerking it to Palin. Yikes. God forbid "Rob" would have to be attracted to a woman based on her brain. That woman is among the least attractive I could imagine, Pelosi is a babe in comparison, even if she is 30 years older. "Rob" probably recorded Oprah so he can go home and yank while he watches Palin lie. It's so powerful when a snarky woman lies straightfaced. Your boy Don admitted he "wouldn't mind having her along on a week long Caribbean cruise". I never said anything about her in that vain. That said, Pelosi is as ugly as they come - even with all of the plastic surgery. I do think I saw her blink...once. Nice try! Rob |

Actually, when you look at Fox's ratings, she might get a job on MSNBC. Love them or hate them, Fox is killing in the ratings and the others would really like a taste of that. If Sarah is really the queen of the right, they could give her Olbermann's slot and try to siphon off some of O'Reilly's audience. What to do with Olbermann? Could he be the new Colmes? He doesn't have the milquetoast delivery that they'd demand. |
