Well, day-um!!!!!! ;-)

First off, I'm not bald (but slowly going gray at 42).

Bad temper? Hmmm... on occasion, yes, okay, you got me there. I finally stood
up and spoke out at work a few days ago with "Can we all make up our freakin'
minds?!?!" and got up from my desk, and went outside to cool off. (I'm a
computer programmer overseeing 3 corporate plant offices Unix servers and
databases). The engineering manager wanted a database query program like
this... The production manager wanted it like that... The other plants
managers wanted it like this. I got frustrated acting like a ping pong ball
bouncing around between corporate plant offices. Aaaaargh!

Oh, and about the B*st*rd... Uh, no. My parents were married when I was born,
and have been happily married for 57 years.

Butch Ammon

P.S. Hopefully people will speak up and support the thought of restoring
rec.boats back to what it once was.

There's no "perfect world" Dave, but I think a good compromise could
be effected if enough people care. I thank you for your post.

To me (and I admit going to the Nudie Bar tonight, and getting quite
drun..., er dizzy), the political postings are important. EXCEPT,
that some of the posters don't have the balls to identify themselves.
What is the point in having an opinion if you have no name? (Just an
opinion you old, bald b*st*rds). My name is NOAH!!! Or not, but you
know where to reach me!

Anyway, if you wern't at the Nudie Bar, I hope you saw the pictures.

I'm not trying to exclude anyone from rec.boats. Some of the most
politically minded posters are also the most knowledgeable and
experienced at boating. I am *asking* for their support to create a
lounge group (bar, dockside, fantail, I don't care).

rec.boats.nudie_bar might be good!?

Noah,
You will find many people who might agree with you, but the vast majority of
the regulars want rec.boats to be a blood bath free for all. They are not
interested in have a separate forum to discuss OT discussions. Have you
ever seen an on topic post remain on topic without someone hijacking the
thread into a political name calling thread. Have you noticed that none of
them have disagreed with me. Unfortunately, what you see is what they want.

Ha ha ha ha.... Goober was better. I'm not too sure about Howard, but he was
"light in his loafers". Barney was allowed a single bullet in his shirt
pocket, no other bullets existed. As for Otis, rehab didn't exist back then.

Doesn't matter, John...even in those days, you needed some talent to get
into an apprenticeship program. You still would have been stuck sweeping

Iraq, Afghanistan and the rest of the Moslem tribal states will be the
Alamo of the United States in the 21st Century. At some point, enough
Americans will have come home in body bags so that the citizenry here
will send a clear message to the Smirking Chimp...get the hell out of

Not so, Harry. It may shatter your perceptions but back in the sixties,
wallowing in my [relative] youth, I was a card-carrying member of the UB of

Last year, I went up a construction elevator about 450 feet over the
Sacramento River with some ironworkers who were building a new bridge. I
was scared into near speechlessness, which, for me, is plenty scared.
Got some great photos, though.
