"restore order among the ranks".

That's like rallying the troops at the Alamo for "one last stand." For

Iraq, Afghanistan and the rest of the Moslem tribal states will be the
Alamo of the United States in the 21st Century. At some point, enough
Americans will have come home in body bags so that the citizenry here
