Naw, that'll never work!

Someone will start screeching about that insensitive program from the dark
ages of the pre-enlightened era that made us chuckle at human foibles,
rural
southern life, and non-macho males; supported the status-quo of keeping
women in the kitchen or the library; fed us an endless stream of simplistic
platitudes based on nothing more than ethical values and simple patriotism,
and glorified the mistreatment of children by making them adhere to
standards.

How could we have survived such fare?
