Man, I Like Those Trimarans
They just scoot along.
Maybe too fast to troll though. This is a Corsair F-24. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9kL6...eature=related But now I thinking about the Telstar 28. I like the ama engineering (no tools), bigger cabin, easier mast takedown/up - for less money. Not as fast as the Farriers, maybe 15-17 knots tops under sail, but can motor faster. Check out the guy standing on the ama at the end of the vid. Imagine standing there about 25 miles out in the Gulf of Mexico, fishing deep for grouper. Tie yourself off if it's bumpy. Probably glue a cupholder somewhere to hold a cold drink. Iced tea or beer, depending. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KxRc8...eature=related What do you think, Wayne? You game for some sailing/fishing? --Vic |

We had a division of Corsair 28Rs on our starting line in Key West two years ago, very exciting to watch when the wind is blowing. http://img115.imageshack.us/img115/5...estracewea.jpg http://www.multihull-maven.com/Boats/Corsair_28R |

And it's capable and stable enough to do it. Can't do a lot of custom rigging for bait wells and such, but as a fishing platform, they do offer some other benefits. Still too slow for me though. :) |

Cool thing about sailing is that the sailor is part of the process/mechanism of making the boat go where he/she wants it to. Unlike a power boat, the human element has to know something about what it's doing. |

He said, "Only once, but it was from the start all the way to the finish." |

I crewed on a friends Hobie 16 and later had a Supercat 17 which to me was screaming fast when compared to my experience on monohulls. |

I don't sail to get anywhere, just enjoy sailing. If I want to go somewhere I take the old pontoon. My Mrs. jibes me about (mono) sailboats outrunning it but I'm pretty sure I can take em. |
