Just goes against my ethics. I'm one of those rare breeds - a retired cop who never accepted gratuities, even free coffee. I've seen far too many cases where a little graft like free meals, etc. led to big time corruption, or compromise in the performance of duty. |

Eh - some of it is good in particular her early material is excellant in that breathy ethereal kind of New Wave "World Music" sound. Her first two "Enya" and "Watermark" were very good - unique and a very different kind of sound. "Shepard Moon" - well, some of it was good, but repetitive on "Watermark". Everything since, with the exception of some of her Celtic compositions, sounds pretty much the same. If you like background music, yeah - I guess. |

I was suggesting it as a 'reference' in case one needed to know what songs she sang. :) |

Sounds like someone's twisting her nipple with a pair of pliers. Just like
those black singers who sing the National Anthem and roam all over, never reaching the right note. MHO, YMMV, BIDGAS Steve |

Lessee, listen to an Enya album...get a root canal. Enya....root canal.
Let's analyze... Both will take about the same amount of time out of my life that will never be recovered. I get a shot to reduce the misery that will ensue over the next 50 minutes for the root canal. No such courtesy is extended for the Enya listen. I get an Rx for a narcotic pain reliever to address the lingering effect of the root canal. Once again, no such consideration offered for the Enya "music" still rattling around in my head. In fact, I'll probably have to listen to some really obnoxious heavy metal just to purge her. The root canal actually fixes a problem that needed to be addressed. Enya didn't address anything. I could have put in a Steely Dan or Mark Knopfler CD to properly address a music jones. I can tell my buddies over beers about the root canal. It's a common experience we've all shared. Probably best not to mention the Enya thing. Insurance will reimburse me for the root canal. I'm out twelve bucks for the Enya CD. RG |
