Obviously it is. I saw this line:

"There now are no more than 100 al-Qaida in Afghanistan." I had to ask
myself, "How the hell do they know that?"

And, if it's true, where did they all go? One answer may be, "To
Iraq," where they were killed by American forces as part of Bush's
ploy to entice them there and then kill 'em. Worked too.

Or, what's left of them could be in Pakistan. But, they're catching
heat there. Now, if NATO, especially us, leaves Afghanistan, I wonder
where the little buggers will go? Surely not to a Taliban-controlled
Afghanistan.

Stupidity abounds.

I think you don't know much about the situation in Afghanistan. It's not
just black and white. I think we're a way off from it, but at some point the
Taliban will find a religious reason to drop its support of al-Qaida. I
heard this comment on NPR, and I have a feeling it's right.

tom francis is 10% knowledge and 90% bluster, and he flips out when you
call his knowledge bluster.

Were you listening to that Brit today on Afghanistan, the one who
dedicated his book to its last king?

Afghanistan's future will be decided by Afghanis. The taliban will
remain an important element. The best we can hope for is neutralizing al
qaeda, which is the goal Obama is setting.
