I ran across this book. So for the last couple hr.s I've been reading
it. It's really interesting concerning life at sea, it's trechors
etc.. Also gives, I believe, some good insight on Magellan not only as
an explorer, but as the Captain General of the fleet.

I hope this link works,

I think if you liked Master Commander, you'd like this. It's pretty
intriguing.

I have it - it's not bad.

If you liked this, you'd love Nicholas Monsarrat's "Master Mariner".

http://www.amazon.com/Master-Mariner...4457492&sr=8-5

Not "Master Marniner - Running Proud". That was written after his
death and it sucks.

I wont' give the plot away, but it's a hell of a read.

Speaking of books about the sea, I came across the author 'David
Poyer' while in the library the other day. He wrote this series:

Dan Lenson series:
1. The Med (1988)
2. The Gulf (1990)
3. The Circle (1992)
4. The Passage (1994)
5. Tomahawk (1998)
6. China Sea (2000)
7. Black Storm (2002)
8. The Command (2004)
9. The Threat (2006)
10. Korea Strait (2007)
11. The Weapon (2008)
12. The Crisis (2009)

I couldn't believe there was a sea series out there I hadn't found.
Have you (or anyone) read these?

I've got to get them on hold.

I don't know a thing about them, John. But I'm willing to investigate.
it would do a soul some good to do some reading this coming winter.
