Nice bike John, but that bike is too clean for me, besides I'd hate to
have to ride behind you all day getting blasted by the garlic wafting out your exhaust pipes. The link below has my 2009 Alaska bike ride. and just to keep on topic I also took an unscheduled boat trip. UD http://community.webtv.net/ADVRIDER/3AmigosRunforthe |

UD http://community.webtv.net/ADVRIDER/3AmigosRunforthe By golly, you've done it, and I haven't. I'd like to find someone who'd be up for a trip to Alaska. I think the Guzzi would make it, but I'd sure take some spare parts, cables, U-joint and bearing, etc. Did you have any mechanical problems with that Beemer? Good looking bike, even with all the dirt. My GAWD.. He sure is ugly...;) -- Wafa free since 2009 |

Where's the trailer hitch ? Hey, it's not a Gold Wing! Everything I need fits on the bike, somewhere. It gets a little tight if I'm taking the Mrs, and we're camping. Two up with a tent, sleeping bags, thermarests, cooking gear, clothes, and Scooby can get a little crowded. -- Calling an Illegal Alien an "Undocumented Worker" is like calling a Crack Dealer an "Unlicensed Pharmacist" John H |

I think the Guzzi would make it, but I'd sure take some spare parts, cables, U-joint and bearing, etc. It's a trip I've always wanted to take, and have every intention of doing so sometime in the future. It would make for an excellent photography ebook upon return. But I have little interest in a two-wheel version of the trip. For that kind of distance, I'd want a bit more comfort and the ability to carry more gear and supplies. My GX470 would be just about perfect, as would your 4runner. |

My Dutch friends shipped their VW camper to Baltimore, spent a couple weeks with us, and then took off for Alaska. They went north from here and then cut across Canada. They had a great time. This same couple shipped their Moto Guzzi to Santiago, Chile, and then rode it to Washington, DC. Two up. Something over 14,000 miles. They're not fanatics or anything. -- Calling an Illegal Alien an "Undocumented Worker" is like calling a Crack Dealer an "Unlicensed Pharmacist" John H |
