If you're going to steal a boat....

make sure you have plenty to eat on board.

Now I'm wondering how much that boat is worth considering its
condition, and the fact that two decomposed bodies were on it.
I wonder if the yacht broker has to reveal the deaths, like in real
estate, where you have to disclose that information to the buyer?
I would buy it, but it would have to be *really cheap.*
btw, these two must have been two really stupid people to not have a
back up plan. Plan one: Steal a boat. Plan two: stock up with food
and water. duh!

Eddie, did you also read where the situation could have been a "hit"
on the two?

The guy had extreme dubious character, and it's possible that they
could have been purposly hauled out to sea on a disabled boat with no
provisions.

But after reading that, I would wonder why she didn't write that in
her log.

Most strange....

Otherwise I imagine if it was a worthy vessel at one time, it's
probably going to be an insurance total and will probably be scrapped.

Just an opinion.

I forget just how that whole incident played out. Did you eventually
find out who took it? Were they charged with the crime and convicted?
Did you recover the bike?

Turned out the kid down the street was involved as was another cops kid
(two all together of 4).. The two kids who "did" get busted were not
cops kids. After meeting the family of the one kid and seeing that it
was not worth having him go through life with a felony conviction when
he was not really the "ring leader" was not the way we wanted to go. The
family was a hard working immigrant family and the kid made a mistake of
hanging with the wrong crowd. We got the bike back, they paid for the
damages, told us the whole story, who and how, etc. After talking to the
youth officer in town who knew the two charged were being set up, we
dropped the charges... From what I understand, we did the right thing,
the kid is working hard and back in school. The two other punks are
still out there, nothing has changed much for them from what I
understand.
