Yeah, except Kilgore is running for the GOP nomination.

It wouldn't upset me to see Texas secede, thereby giving the right-wing
nutjobs the terrority they want. All the religious freaks could move
there, and complete the conversion of the former Texas into a theocracy.

And the country could save a bundle in the process. We would have to
move the patrolled part of the Mexican border back to Oklahoma, New
Mexico, Arkansas and Louisiana, but we could shut down the military
bases in Texas. We could disconnect them from our power grid. No
more federal funding for transportation needs. No federal funding
at all! But then Kilgore would not be governor any more. What would
that make him, President of Dumb****istan?

Jesusland. We could give 'em LA, MS, AL and FL too. Maybe throw in
Idaho as a goodwill gesture so they could see snow once in a while.
