The blacks in Nova Scotia in the 19th century probably were descended from freed slaves from the American colonies and the early United States. A number of slaves were offered freedom by the Brits in exchange for their service in the military against the United States in the War of 1812, and were given land in Nova Scotia after that war. |

Something like 26% of the NC households owned slaves. A bad thing, but it is a hell of a lot different than Harry's "Economic Slavery". |
