Have you decided what to do with your Guzzi yet? I've got mine up and running again. Checked the valves, for the first time in a couple years. They're right where they should be. All that money for gaskets wasted! New plugs, new lubes everywhere, clean air filters, and new u-joint. It's all ready for the trip to Maine, NH, Vermont, and upstate NY in September. Send us some good weather! -- John H All decisions, even those made by liberals, are the result of binary thinking. Awesome, John! Hey, when you get ready for that trip, let me know, I'll show you some beautiful places to visit in NY. A little later would be more colorful, but then you may get some frost on the gas tank!!!! Here's our itinerary. Tell me what you think. I start on Tuesday. We will meet in Elmhurst, PA. Then... Wednesday (Day 1): Elmhurst PA to Woodstock VT -- 385 Miles. http://www.mapquest.com/mq/10-krWbHz2A3Xa4frp2PqV1 Thursday (Day 2): Woodstock VT to Bar Harbor ME -- 325 Miles (we'll want to toodle around Bar Harbor a bit) http://www.mapquest.com/mq/5-_NzKg2nxF*lVeE3F Friday (Day 3): Bar Harbor ME to Newport VT -- 348 Miles. http://www.mapquest.com/mq/2-ZQWp4Ur4IB6yuwvvSMhJ Saturday (Day 4): Newport VT -- Amsterdam NY and Scranton PA To Scranton: http://www.mapquest.com/mq/5-aciTC6Jw Sunday - Scranton PA to Alexandria, VA by fastest route possible. -- John H All decisions, even those made by liberals, are the result of binary thinking. You are staying pretty far east of my stomping grounds. But that is a very beautiful area where you are skirting the Catskills. I've been to Margarteville many times when we'd go camping/canoing in the area. Near there there is a fantastic farmer's market with local homemade stuff. Grand Gorge is a cool little town too! One thing you'll notice alot around these parts. Things don't change! The little town I lived in looks almost the same as it did 25 years ago. Take rain gear. In the fall it can drizzle for days, but it's beautiful. Have fun! We naturally take rain gear, but I sure hope it stays dry. I'm not wild about riding in the rain, especially on twisy roads with leaves down. Yuck. But, us girliemen gotta do what we gotta do, while those 'real manly types' in Nova Scotia fetch the beer and suckle. :-) -- John H All decisions, even those made by liberals, are the result of binary thinking. |

Wednesday (Day 1): Elmhurst PA to Woodstock VT -- 385 Miles. http://www.mapquest.com/mq/10-krWbHz2A3Xa4frp2PqV1 97 along the Delaware, is a nice ride, but entering at Lackawaxen, you miss the best part, Hawk's Nest. It's about 5 miles north of Port Jervis, and is almost worth the extra miles. Nice twisties, although too short. http://portjervisny.com/hawks_nest_in_autumn.htm Thursday (Day 2): Woodstock VT to Bar Harbor ME -- 325 Miles (we'll want to toodle around Bar Harbor a bit) http://www.mapquest.com/mq/5-_NzKg2nxF*lVeE3F 112 between Lincoln and Conway, NH, is also called the Kancamagus Highway. It will probably be the highlight of your day. Friday (Day 3): Bar Harbor ME to Newport VT -- 348 Miles. http://www.mapquest.com/mq/2-ZQWp4Ur4IB6yuwvvSMhJ When you get to Gorham, NH, you are only about 10 miles north of the Mt. Washington Auto Road. Something to consider, if you have never done it before. Saturday (Day 4): Newport VT -- Amsterdam NY and Scranton PA To Scranton: http://www.mapquest.com/mq/5-aciTC6Jw Sunday - Scranton PA to Alexandria, VA by fastest route possible. n I'll pass your comments on to my youngest brother. We, the two oldest, are letting him plan the route so he'll feel important. Thanks for the tips. -- John H All decisions, even those made by liberals, are the result of binary thinking. |

His statement: "I hit the ground at 90 kilometres per hour and I only got a few scratches," Lee Dale of Riverview, N.B., said Tuesday as he sipped a coffee from a straw in his hospital bed. Dale has a broken left foot, five cracked ribs, a damaged shoulder and a broken right thumb." He says he only got a few scratches? Needs a brain to tell him broken bones are not scratches. Well, that's probably all he could see. If you can't see it, it ain't there, y'know. An intelligent person wouldn't have hit the bear in the first place! An intelligent person would have read for content and noticed that the bear hit the biker. Wake up & smell the moonshine, Kevin. How would loogy know what an "intelligent person" would do? Now that is an excellent point! Good boy, dummy! Here's your biscuit! Now go run and play! An intelligent person would know how to maneuver a motorcycle to avoid something like a bear. There is no way in hell he could run a straight line - at 30mph. |
