Carryin the kicker

Having my kicker mount finally failing yesterday on a very bumpy dirt
road has given me the excuse to buy a good mount but I am not sure if
any non-fixed mount will work. Just about any mount that drops the
kicker into the water hangs ir out where it is a long lever arm that
can bounce up and down prone to failure after lots of bouncing.
Suggestions?

Sliding jack plate that can be lowered by hand and raised and locked with
cleves pin and clip for a lock.

Vertical drawer bottom of sorts that slides on the transom. The kicker
can't be that heavy.

Design it and fabricate it or have it fabricated.

My kicker mount, no longer in use, has a stainless steel strap on the
side that you can engage to lock the mount in the up position. I've
had it a long time but I believe it is this one:

Most moveable mounts I have seen say not to transport the motor on the
mount.

CalifBill: Excellent point so I read thru the Garelick motor mount
manual and they specifically say not to transport the motor on the
mount. I am not going to put that heavy motor on the mount every time
I take her out (or at least do not want to), any ideas? This is my
"use it to get back home just in case" kicker that I have used when
the primary 90 hp got clogged with weeds.

I had an OMC bracket. First bracket broke and motor was hanging on by one
bolt that had not broken. Next OMC bracket cracked some brackets and the
transom. So I had a fixed bracket built and welded on the boat. Aluminum
boat. No problems for the last 7 years, and I now run a heavier Yamaha T-8
motor.
