or used to kill Middle Easterners than have the same money used on
health care in the U.S.

Noted sociologist Tim Johnson of Tupelo, Miss., said that the poll
is in
line with how many Americans feel.

"In the U.S., it's all about striving to be rich," said Johnson.
"And if
you fail, you're out. So better let the successful amongst us thrive
than worry about the vast majority of Americans, who are abject
failures
at getting rich."

Republicans were quick to jump on the poll numbers.

"Americans are selfless people. So selfless, they'll always vote
against
their own interests," said Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal. "At the
GOP,
we're aware of that and confident it will again lead us to power. The
people have spoken, and they've told us they don't want to be heard
anymore. We can do that."

More than 1,000 people took the poll, though many refused to accept the
free pencils given out to fill out the poll, claiming it was a
"socialist act" and that they should be "punished for not having their
own pencils."

In every parody there's an element of truth. and this is almost
truth....hopefully americans are tired of paying for the excesses of
the rich.


Now you've done it...you've let the cat out of the bag. Yes, it's a
parody, and I just know the "usual righties" thought it was for real!


The best cure for the sort of excessive greed that has just about
ruined this country? Serious increases in the state and federal income
tax rates for those above a certain level, no matter the source of
that income, with the possible exception of long-term capital gains on
funds invested in this country in U.S. companies.

I'd go along with the "Obama" $250,000 starting point for an increase
in rates, and additional rate increases at $500,000 and each $100,000
above that.

Salary, bonuses, deferred income, whatever, above a certain amount, it
gets taxes as ordinary income.

Looks like you may get your wish, but the start point will be MUCH lower
than $250K.



Lower middle income couples like the Krauses are going to get whacked
hard with new income taxes. Oh-Bah-Mah!

Doubtful. Geithner and Summers simply didn't rule out the possibility.
But the voters will make it clear that higher income taxes on the middle
class are the kiss of death for a second term.


Soaking the rich, the really rich, though...that's going to happen.
