Since the Medal of Freedom has been around for some years, and is awarded
to *civilians,* it is unlikely anyone other than an idiot would confuse it
with a military battlefield award.

Well done, it only took you 2.5 hours to look it up. If you had actually
known it, you would have posted it with your 1st reply to the subject.

OK, Medal of Freedom, so sue me. *Still, giving one to murderer Ted
Kennedy, great values those libs have. *Ted blocked windmills in his
yachting area because he thought they'd spoil his view, great
environmental records you libs have. *I wish Kennedy a death
comparable to the one he gave to Kopechne, justice you know.

I propose that Kennedy's enormously obese body be rendered into
BioDiesel. At least his life will have contributed something.

Apparently you don't know the definition of murder, either.

Whatever moral rules you have proposed, abide by them as they were laws,
and as if you would be guilty of impiety by violating any of them,
*unless* you are a conservative Republican office holder or minister. If
that is your position in life, then anything goes.

Default Medal of honor for a famous boater

recipient went to famous boater and yachtsman Ted Kennedy who famously
tried to mimic a ferryboat in drunkenly driving off a bridge killing
his companion Mary J. Kopechne. In reality, Kopechne
lived.........just long enough to struggle to stay in the ever smaller
bubble of air in the sinking car while Ted Kennedy in true liberal
fashion simply crawled out of the water and went home. Kopechne died
a terrifying death struggling for air.
Liberals embraced Kennedy as a hero for swimming away from the sinking
car and have consistently rewarded his heroism in election after
election. Now Ted is dying from cancer after putting up a brave
battle. His battle is far braver than that Kopechne and we should all
wish that his death is more heroicly drawn out, only a tad more
painful and as lonely as hers was.
Ted Kennedy, a true liberal hero.

Harry's father received the Medal of Honor many times from all of the
presidents that he hung out with.

You are right, the correct charge for any mortal man would have been
DUI vehicular homicide. That probably would have drawn a year or two
in jail in 1969 that ends up being about 6 months and probation. These
days it would be more like 15 years. In a state like Florida you will
serve 85% of that by law.

Or 30 days.

Updated: June 18, 2009, 6:06 PM EDT

MIAMI (AP) - Cleveland Browns wide receiver Donte' Stallworth began
serving a 30-day jail sentence Tuesday for killing a pedestrian while
driving drunk in Florida, a punishment made possible by his cooperation
with investigators and the fervent wish by the victim's family to put
the matter behind them.

Stallworth, 28, also reached a confidential financial settlement with
the family of 59-year-old Mario Reyes, a construction worker struck and
killed early on March 14 by Stallworth, driving drunk in his black 2005
Bentley.

Stallworth had faced 15 years in prison for his DUI manslaughter
conviction. After his release from jail, he must serve two years of
house arrest and spend eight years on probation. The house arrest
provisions will allow him to resume his football career, his attorney said.

And that's in 2009. Penalties were much lighter 40 years ago.

You mean dead in five minutes instead of years of torment like you get
from cancer? Give him five years in some nice max security slammer,
with the medical treatment convicts get.
