Default Antenna recommendation?

I need to put an antenna (am/fm) in my vintage Crestliner this coming
week, I'm looking for something that retracts fully so I can still use
a cover, extends to a good long length, (lake is remote) and can mount
in the thick fiberglass ahead of the windshield.

Most antennas I see are meant for mounting in sheet metal and don't
mount well in fiberglass. What works well? Any experience?
Suggestions?

Terry

The Digital 531AW is a pretty good choice and a regular figerglass
mount will serve you just fine.

I mounted my FM antenna coaxially with the VHF antenna. When I put the
VHS down, the FM antenna goes with it. Works fine.

For the same reason, I decided to put my 12" rubber antenna under the
console with a few cable ties to see if it would work. The reception is
perfect - even 15 miles offshore - and it's completely out of the way.
I've had no reason to mount it any higher. Try that before you drill
any holes!
