Maybe I don't have much imagination. But I do pay others to peel my oranges. Where I have a problem sometimes is my wife or kids eating all the fruit like bananas or peaches before they're ripe enough for me. Like my bananas with spotted skin and my peaches soft. Almost impossible to get decent peaches up here anyway. --Vic |

You're absolutely right, again! I use a knife. Always have, probably always will. But thanks for the thought. You're quite a nice guy, regardless of what so many others say. -- John H |

We get ours from a farmer's market up in the mountains. |

When we went to Florida with the kids in August, we'd always stop on a few roadside stands in Georgia and peach out. Last time we went that time of year I found - I think it's the link below - a "peach factory" about 3-5 miles off the interstate. Didn't get any peaches there, but did get some peach bread, which was pretty darn good. They had a glassed in walkway/platform where you could stand and watch illegal latinos below pack the peaches for shipping. http://www.lanesouthernorchards.com/storefront.cfm Check out the live web cam - pretty interesting. http://www.lanesouthernorchards.com/live_webcam The real nice part was the ride there. Beautiful trees lined the road on either side of the highway leading there. Don't know if the trees were special, but the effect was. The entire road was shaded, quite a contrast from the interstate. --Vic |
