Peachtree City, a suburb of Atlanta made the top ten. There were NO places in Maryland, home of the KKK in the 25. Yeah.... Well, if you like islands, you can't do much better than this one here in Nova Scotia http://thechronicleherald.ca/NovaScotia/1132258.html Atlanta...sucks. I've been in Atlant many times, and the only thing I found that "sucked" was the Summer heat, Airport and the Expressway. Some of the best blues bands and BBQ houses are in Atlanta. I've logged 750k miles on Delta alone, and IMO the Atlanta airport is one of the easiest large airports to get around in. It is laid out logically, and easy to move from one concourse to another. The only bad thing is the inevitable thunderstorm when traveling through there on a summer afternoon. Laguardia, JFK, and Ohare suck. LAX isn't far behind. DFW is too spread out. Salt Lake isn't bad. Oh yeah... the international concourse in most airports have the best food. I hate DFW. I've missed more flights there than anywhere because of the layout. Because the thing is shaped in an arc, it's usually a LONG way to get to the gate you need to be at when connecting. Oakland, CA always seems to me that I do less walking there. Living in Atlanta, I know Hartsfield well, and it IS a nice airport, easy to find your way around, although huge! I don't think many airports are as easy to get around in as Tampa's. I've always liked the layout of that airport. http://tinyurl.com/mze5dy Trams take passengers from the center hub to the outer islands. Works well. -- John H Orlando (MCO) is very similar. The "C" concourse at O'Hare (ORD) for United has an interesting underground moving sidewalk. |
