Anyway, he came over and checked out the bus and wants it. Turns out he drove across country back in the early 70's in a '65 bus. I haven't seen the Norton, so I asked a few preliminary questions. He gave me the whole story. He completely rebuilt it from the frame up about 8 years ago and it's been in storage since. All new stainless hardware, new carbs, exhaust system, new seats, new cables, brakes, engine work, and paint. He said it's in showroom condition. He took it out of storage about a week ago and took it to a bike shop to have them go through it again making sure it's tight and also to have a check valve put in the oil line. (that was one design problem with the Norton engines .... the oil completely drained back into the sump). We made a deal, sight unseen for me. He's picking it up from the shop Thursday and we will be swapping shortly after. I thought I had my fill of bikes, but this one brings back some memories. Eisboch |

Your life is your own for sure but, as a man who preaches the gospel of personal responsibility, you've got a lot to offer those coming up in the world. Whacking your pud over the line of toys you draw to yourself is of no value to you or others. Maybe your music shoppe is it. Seems like another diversion for your idle hands. Of course, none of this is my business but, as you seem to have so many opinions about my mental state, happiness or frustrations, I thought I'd return the favor. Iin the midst of a horrific business climate, we're doing fine, better than fine. My kids are healthy and did well in school, my wife is doing lots of charity work and my garden is popping tomotoes and various veggies like a charm. I'm about to start the search for my next car. I can't say I'm fully satisfied. I'd like to see health care passed in a meaningful way so my fellow citizens don't have to worry about whether they can afford to see a doctor. I don't care if it costs me a few more dollars a week. I'd also like to see a worthy opposition emerge in Washington because I'm not so foolish as to believe one party can rule effectively. I am having immense joy, however, watching the present incarnation of the R's implode. I hope they re-emerge with some fresh talent that makes more sense than the idiots they offer now. In closing, your defense of Palin is astonishing. Like I said in another thread, the R's are going to look at her in 10 years and ask themselves what the **** they were thinking and they will not have an answer. I hope we're all still alive to witness it. |

All I've done is defend her right to be free of vicious and mean-spirited personal attacks on her and her family that have nothing to do with politics. What has gone on for the past 7 months or more is way beyond civil, political debate. I'd advocate (and do) the same right to anyone. With that, I've pretty much had my fill of you. Oh great critic, One main difference's between he an you, is that Richard's business's work. -------------------------- Not always, but I am not afraid of trying new things or ideas. Generally I get an "entertainment value only" kick out of jps. He seems so ...... unhappy and frustrated for being so enlightened and worldly. Not to draw comparisons, but I think a review of our respective posts over time would reveal the following to all but the most oblivious observer. 1. I tend to be much more tolerant of the beliefs and opinions of others, even if I don't personally subscribe to them. Somehow to jps, that means I am a knuckle dragging right-wing neocon. 2. I don't take out my frustrations on inanimate objects like a TV set by pulling a nutty, screaming gutter talk profanities at it in front of young children. To jps, that means I am a ardent Cheney supporter. 3. I don't attack his business, his business philosophies, his boat or what he does for a hobby. I don't know what he does and really don't care. 4. Having done it, I have respect for those that create and build a company, including him. To jps, that means I am a greedy, big business capitalist. I could go on, but it's not worth the effort. But, I have to ask. Which of us are better adjusted, rational and "enlightened"? Eisboch |

Like I said in another thread, the R's are going to look at her in 10 years and ask themselves what the **** they were thinking and they will not have an answer. I hope we're all still alive to witness it. I chopped all your other personal family history because I really don't care. You're such a tease. Like I said when you posited your theory of lint, you need something to do with your life. |
