coolant for volvo penta diesels
 

the book says use volvo product, the local volvo mechanic/dealer doesn't
carry. he uses a regular diesel coolant. Thoughts on this?

Be careful with coolant types on any modern diesels. Same with some cars.
Some are compatible with materials in the heads and blocks, some are not.

I'd check your engine's maintenance/owner's manual. The Volvo diesels I had
were very specific about the coolant type.
