I vote for 9 September 1965, the day Sandy Koufax pitched his last of
four career no-hitters, and a great one it was.

Do you mean like calling people "dumbfochs", "little schitts", and
hinting that there is something more to a person wanting to camp with
their children than just camping?

FloridaJim feels possessive about the U.S. flag because while in the navy
he helped protect Topeka, Kansas, from invasion by the north vietnamese by
facilitating the bombing of their women, children, and villages. Or
somesuch nonsense.

Florida Jim was on a world boating cruise courtesy of the US taxpayer.
I would think the closest he came to 'real action' was dealing with his
drunken sailor buddies after one more exotic port visit.

All the while Donny was hammering on the bottle caps at the Halifax
government owned brewery. I'll bet his kid is following in his footsteps.

Where he served is totally beside the point. The fact is that he
served. What do you know about 'real action'?

Again you prove that you just don't get it.

Where did you serve? I heard a guy talking about Iraq this weekend, I
took the time to shake his hand and thank him. One of the fathers of
Jessi's closest competetor just got back from Afgahanastan. Talk about
tough... He had a serious crash during the race, they blackflagged the
moto and started it over after they scooped him off the track. About
an hour later his daughter and mine were again, lined up next to each
other at the gate and I had a chance to talk to him. His hand was
broken and the size of a baseball but he was just going to finish the
day with his kids then go to the hospital and get it fixed... He
didn't even flinch, this kid is tough as nails, well trained,
dicipline, and focused... His daughter took fourth, Mouse took fifth.
Oh, and in case I didn't ask, where did you serve?

Foching idiot.

Eisboch

FloridaJim? Indeed.

The war against Vietnam was fought for fraudulent purposes, just as
Dubya's war against Iraq was. Four presidents - Eisenhower,
Kennedy, Johnson, and Nixon - were responsible for the fiasco in SE
Asia that killed 55,000 Americans and more than a million Asians.

And for what?

For nothing.

You have every right to your opinions. Some other poor slob took
your place and filled your billet.
Hopefully he survived.

But personally, I have very low tolerance or respect for people who
routinely make the derogatory comments about those who served when
called upon. That's why you earned a "Foching Idiot".

Eisboch

FloridaJim is a turd. His hitch in the navy or whatever doesn't
change that.

This country and the world would have been far better off if a
million guys had told Uncle Sam "**** you, I'm not going to SE Asia
to fight for your military-industrial complex," because, in the end
that's whose purpose was really served.

I won't begin to deny the troops we sent there "served" their
country, but their country didn't serve them by sending them there.

Same as Bush II in Iraq.

All this blustering to deflect the fact that Krause is a coward, ne'er
do well atheist, racist bigot. Go listen to some Dylan LPs. It might
help you to feel better about yourself.

It really makes you wonder. Each of us has taken a path in life and
sometimes that path is chosen by us and sometimes it is not chosen by
us. Most of us accept that chance and circumstance had an effect on our
paths and others paths and we do not denigrate them for it, however, we
do often wonder what we could have done differently to change our own path.

I happened to be watching a show last night on TV, it was about people
and the what the did in the early years of their lives. Most didn't do
it for their country or their God. They did it because if they didn't do
it someone else would have to do it. Once they were trained to do their
job they were duty bound to do their jobs when called upon, because it
was their job and nobody else was there to do it.

Corpsman and Medics the unsung hero's of the battlefields.

No one in this country "had" to go to vietnam for any reasonable purpose.

This Newsgroup post is a natural product. The slight variations in
spelling and grammar enhance its individual character and beauty and in
no way are to be considered flaws or defects
