Yes, I am! It's a great hobby. There's always something to learn, and
part of it is, when you get into it, is building your own contraptions
to make it easier! Start out with extract brewing to get your
sanitation and other techniques down before you go all grain! Need any
help, advice, etc. let me know, I'd be glad to help.

You're traveled, so you know what a GOOD beer tastes like!

Reminds me of a comedian I heard.
He said "I don't drink anymore".
"I don't drink any less, but I don't drink any more!"

I looked at the beer-making instructions. Lots to do.
Can you just send me a case of your beer?
If you too much a prick to do that, what do you think about this?
http://www.homebrewers.com/product/1...&utm_campaign=
And these kits?
http://www.homebrewers.com/category/...ts.beerkits_1/

I see that once I get both of these kits I'll be flush with 100 bottle
caps, but no bottles.
Do these caps fit standard pry-off beer bottles?
What do you recommend?
One other thing. Do you know what beer kit is closest to
Hacker-Pschorr weiss? These are pretty pricey kits.
I don't like hoppy beer, but it looks like hop levels are pretty well
described.
I might google some stuff up, but you can probably keep me going on
this. You have enthusiasm!

There not elitist snobs. They know their craft and know it well. After
events, most will come and talk, give advice, drink a cold one, etc.
Same with beer judges.

Snobs always shoot the **** with other snobs.
Who better to be snobby with?
All traces of starter fluid is gone when the charcoal is white, and my
food doesn't go on the grill until then.
Mesquite can impart "starter fluid flavors" in meat to some palates.
Read that somewhere.
Hell, some meat probably tastes like starter fluid because of diet.
Grazing near a refinery will do that. *
I don't care for this snob stuff, whether it's beer or BBQ.
I enjoy Miller High Life, and I don't need some asshole telling me I
don't. *He can pound sand.
Same with anybody telling me my brats taste like starter fluid.
It's a damn lie! *And if you feel that way, get the hell off my patio
and drive your ass over to White Castle!
hehe. *Hope I get chance to say that in real life.
Not likely.

Oh yeah.

A friend of mine once tole me that you know you're hearing a good
blues band because there's BBQ sauce oozing out of the PA speakers.

LOL!

Yeah, but don't get intimidated, just remember, everything that is not
boiled is sanitized. I use bleach.

Yep, WAY too much of a prick!!!

I see that once I get both of these kits I'll be flush with 100 bottle

Yes, as long as the bottles are NOT twist off, you're good, and if you
don't have enough, if you have a homebrew supply near you, they'll
have em. But remember, you won't need those for a couple of weeks.
Here's a tip. To sanitize the bottles, I just cut a bunch of squares
of aluminum foil, and cover each bottle tightly. Then put in the oven,
slowly raise the temp to 300 or so, and shut it off after a half an
hour. You can do this whenever, so you don't have to do it right
before you bottle. They will stay sanitized because they are covered
with the foil!

What do you recommend?

The equipment kit is a good one. Add an autosiphon. More beer gets
contaminated by the siphoning process than anything else.
One other thing. *Do you know what beer kit is closest to
Hacker-Pschorr weiss? *These are pretty pricey kits.

The kits are kind of pricey, but they are the way to go for a
beginner. Once you get the hang of it, then you'll start doing extract
brews that you go get the ingredients for from your local homebrew
supply store. Besides, you'll get about 55 or so bottles of absolutley
great beer for $30. Here is a very good weiss kit:

No problems, love to help new brewers out, that's part of the hobby.
Got my step son in law all geeked up about it! Once I get you going,

Damn. I was sorta hoping calling you a prick would put you off.
Now it looks like I'm going to have to start making beer!
I'll keep you posted. Have to find a local bottle supplier first.
If I used my empties it would take me a year to save enough.
I'll try that weiss.
Sorry I can't help you with the cheese. Only did that once with a
kit. Cheaper and better to buy a Colby than the one I made.
Maybe I'll send you a bottle of the weiss to make up for it.
How much is hazmat shipping nowadays?
