Obama stiffs unemployed...

"WASHINGTON (AP) — Counties suffering the most from job losses stand
to receive the least help from President Barack Obama's plan to spend
billions of stimulus dollars on roads and bridges, an Associated Press
analysis has found.

Although the intent of the money is to put people back to work, AP's
review of more than 5,500 planned transportation projects nationwide
reveals that states are planning to spend the stimulus in communities
where jobless rates are already lower.

One result among many: Elk County, Pa., isn't receiving any road money
despite its 13.8 percent unemployment rate. Yet the military and
college community of Riley County, Kan., with its 3.4 percent
unemployment, will benefit from about $56 million to build a highway,
improve an intersection and restore a historic farmhouse.

http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/...Iwh1wD983T6D00

Of note:

"Altogether, the government is set to spend 50 percent more per person
in areas with the lowest unemployment than it will in communities with
the highest."

.....residents of Perry County, Tenn., will have to wait. County Mayor
John Carroll said he's disappointed his community, which suffers from
25.4 percent unemployment, won't receive a dime any time soon for its
road needs."

-------

Hmmm - one has to wonder if...well no other way to put it, Union
contractors had anything to do with this?

Nah...

You're blaming Obama for the choices of individual states?

Maybe first read what you post?

Tommy is trolling.

The criteria stated the projects had to be "shovel-ready."

Tommy's "efforts" are really pretty funny. For eight years, he was
completely accepting of the presidency of Bush, quite possibly the worst
president in the history of this country, with an administration that
got wrong just about everything it touched. *Now* we have a smart
president who is trying to clean up the messes Bush left behind *and*
jumpstart the economy Bush's malfeasance, misfeasance, and nonfeasance
crashed, and Tommy thinks he is giving us payback.

It's Obama's fault. Who the hell developed the plan?

And you are a complete ass for calling him "Tommy" because he doesn't buy
your political persuasions.
You are doing it on purpose, for effect, you know the issue, but you're
willing to do anything to be an ass.

**** you, Harry.

Actually, I don't know "the issue" regarding "Tommy." I have no idea why
Tommy objects to the very common nickname for the name Thomas.

I don't expect him to "buy" my politics, but I don't recall him
objecting much if at all to the idiocies of the Bush Administration. He
bought into every lie Cheney put in Bush's mouth.

Sorry, never saw the explanation. Your amateur analysis is just
quackers. There are lots of posts in here I don't read for one reason

George Bush is no longer president. Give it up. (Where did I hear

Not only did you read the post, but you acknowledged and responded to
the post, and stated you would not call him Tommy.

Once you decided someone is on your ****-list, you will use any and all
personal knowledge to try to touch a sensitive nerve. It has nothing to
do with politics, I can remember when Chuck went on your ****-list and
you treated him the same as those you consider right wing trash.

You are a laugh a minute. Did you read where Obama was going to rescind
stimulus money from California because they were reducing the pay of
some state workers?

Maybe first read what you post?
