Canoe spill lands men in hospital

Sat. Apr 25 - 4:46 AM

LIVERPOOL — Two men were taken to Queens General Hospital here Friday
afternoon after their canoe capsized in Ponhook Lake, Queens County.

Liverpool firefighters, RCMP and paramedics attended the scene at the
popular sport fishing lake.

RCMP Sgt. Mark Gallagher said the men had been fishing and were not
wearing life-jackets, although two were found in the canoe.

Emergency Health Services received the call at 12:38 p.m. that two men
were in the water and sent two ambulances.

A 52-year-old man was able to swim to shore and was in fair condition,
said EHS spokesman Paul Maynard. He was taken away by ambulance at
about 2:18 p.m.

"The second patient was found at approximately three o’clock," he
said. He would not confirm if the man had swam to shore or was found
in the water.

That man was listed by ambulance crew as being in critical condition,
said Mr. Maynard.

RCMP said the man was 45 years old.

Don's too stupid to understand that because of the actions of a few,
it doesn't mean the whole country is like that. Take a look at his
thread about people in Georgia. One person from Georgia wrecks a truck
and he thinks the whole state is like that. You can't find many people
more ignorant or bigoted than that! Well, Harry and slammer come
close.....

Don's too stupid to understand that because of the actions of a few,

Pssst, idiot! Look in the dictionary before you post, it may help you
not look quite so stupid. Oh, here, you're probably too stupid to use
a dictionary, but of course you'd have to have a dictionary in the
first place:

big·ot (bÄ*g'É™t)
n. One who is strongly partial to one's own group, religion, race,
or politics and is intolerant of those who differ.

Notice if you will, idiot, "intolerant of those who differ". Get it?
Probably not, bigot.
But, it is fun watching you display to the world just how stupid,
vulgar, low life, nasty little prick you are when hiding under your
desk.

You boast of such high intelligence, and must ask a question like that?

He may be the most trusted Republican by independents and democrats at
this point. Although he pulled a hail mary stunt by selecting
Palin as a running mate, he still has some credibility. He's
supported Obama when he felt he was right and opposed him when he's
disagreed - his integrity is far more intact than Boner, Cantor,
Gingrich, Limbaugh or Michael Steele.

For the Republicans to distance themselves or throw McCain out of the
party would be further folly but consistent with the self destructive
streak we've been witnessing for the past several years.

Now, why don't you shed some light on your thinking about McCain
instead of flippant, empty rhetoric.

supported Obama when he felt he was right and opposed him when he's
disagreed - his integrity is far more intact than Boner, Cantor,
Gingrich, Limbaugh or Michael Steele.

For the Republicans to distance themselves or throw McCain out of the
party would be further folly but consistent with the self destructive
streak we've been witnessing for the past several years.

Now, why don't you shed some light on your thinking about McCain
instead of flippant, empty rhetoric.

Actually, McCain is about the only Republican around who a majority of
Americans respect. Who else is there? Palin? Boehner? Limbaugh? Romney?
Certainly not Gingrich, Limbaugh or the idiot congressman from Virginia,
Cantor. It's kind of humorous watching the pundits and others on the GOP
side pushing the party further to the right. It seems like a death wish.
Funnier still is the daily criticism from the right in the absence of
any reasonable ideas to help this country solve the horrific problems
left behind by idiot Bush and his gang of criminals.

but at least none of them are trying to run the most powerful country on

Scary eh?

Well, I wouldn't' worry about McCain. he had his chance.

You're saying he's not part of Republican leadership? *I'm sure that'd
be news to him.

You boast of such high intelligence, and must ask a question like that?

He may be the most trusted Republican by independents and democrats at
this point. *Although he pulled a hail mary stunt by selecting
*Palin as a running mate, he still has some credibility. *He's
supported Obama when he felt he was right and opposed him when he's

Why? because I really don't have to. My comment isn't truely what is
in question here.

MCain ran for the presidency and lost. He had his chance. And chances
are strong that he won't run again. That's it.

so, whats so "flippant" about that?

Actually Gingrich is the shining star on that list. Without him and
the 104th congress the Clinton "budget miracle" could never have
happened. You have to throw Ross Perot in there too.
The problem for the GOP is they don't have a new Gingrich.
I agree Limbaugh is not helping anyone but Limbaugh, and I can say
that for Olbermann too. I am not sure we are actually served by the 24
hour news cycle.

I agree that on the list of Republican leaders, Gingrich is at or near
the top. Newt, however, has "issues," issues that should infuriate the
evangelicals in the Republican base.
