Surveying a boat that is 1000 miles away?
I'm looking at buying a boat in Titusville, FL. How does one go about
getting a survey done from a distance? Can anyone recommend a surveyor in the area that works on fiberglass sailboats? Thanks. |

BE CAREFUL!!! ONLY hire a surveyor that has been recommended by a known, reputable source! There are LOTS of bad surveyors out there, including many who are in cahoots with unethical or clueless brokers. Last year a friend in WA wanted to buy a boat in CA. He hired 2 surveyors remotely -- 1 for the hull and 1 for the engines. He got back excellent reports from both of them. Thanks for the advice, but I'm still going to need a surveyor and I don't have anyone that can recommend one in the area. Do you have any recommendations for me, either the name of a surveyor, or how to find one in the area? Thanks |
