Herr Krause. You and "Salty" make strange bedfellows. You insult each
other whilst forming an unholy alliance. Notice how you each address your comrade in arms. hk View profile More options Feb 18 2008, 6:52 pm Newsgroups: rec.boats From: hk Date: Mon, 18 Feb 2008 19:52:47 -0500 Local: Mon, Feb 18 2008 6:52 pm Subject: Latest on-line scam?? Well, I'm not going to totally disagree with you. But actually there are several people here that do have quite a bit of boating knowledge. True, there's lots of BS that seems to liquidly flow though ehre on a daily basis. But I'm not speaking for all, but I would say that for a great many people that hang around here, this is off boat posting season. Mine will be tucked away for at least another couple months so... I'm not going boating for a while yet. Then I'll be posting more boating questions and experiences. It does seem that year around, rec.boats.cuising does have less blather and more boating posts IMO. The newsgroup is filled with boatless posters, or posters with boats who have little or no interest in boating or fishing, or posters who know next to nothing about boating, but are opinionated nonetheless. The problems are exacerbated by the large number of "anonymous" posters infecting the newsgroup. When usenet "outlaws" anonymous posting, usenet will once again become useful. So what about so called non-anonymous posters (like yourself) whos stated identity can not in any way be confirmed? There are posters here who know my name, address and telephone number, several with whom I have have exchanged checks amounting to several hundreds of dollars or more, and several I have met personally. My preferred "correction" for usenet would be for every post to have listed in his/her headers his/her actual name and actual IP. That would not prevent or interfere with the use of nicknames in here, but at the same time would improve behavior and virtually eliminate the anonyous posters who show up here only or mostly to crap. I used to be opposed to moderated newsgroups. Not any more. Harry, If you real name is Harry Krause, it has done nothing to deter you from posting crap. Just today, you were talking about picking one idiot so you can make him look foolish. If you ask anyone in the NG, it would be universally agreed, you are the biggest problem in rec.boats. You just KNOW that statement made Harry's head swell another hat size. Sorry, Saltpeter, I don't give a flying f*ck about Reggie or the vomit he projects in here. |
